I grew up in Romania and moved to Bremen, Germany in 2006.
In 2009, I obtained my B.S. in Earth and Space Sciences (Astrophyics, Geology, Oceanography, Space Physics) from Jacobs University Bremen. My specialization area was Astrophysics. Currently, I am a graduate student in Astroparticle Physics at the same university, working under the guidance of Prof. Marcus Brüggen.
Hobbies: photography, hiking, tennis, traveling, reading, and cooking.
Interests: health, low-carb nutrition, biochemistry.
Research
From June to August 2008, I was an intern at Space Telescope Science Institute (Baltimore), working under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Lennon. My project consisted in analyzing radial velocities of massive young stars and the population of binary stars in NGC 346. NGC 346 is an open stellar cluster in the Small Magellanic Cloud. Below is a picture of the cluster, taken with the Hubble Space Telescope.

Since 2008, I have been studying galaxy clusters at multiple wavelengths (like in the image below), in particular galaxy formation and evolution, and feedback in cooling-flow galaxy clusters.
